APR Fied 1952 THE WHITE HOUSE 103-G WASHINGTON March 31, 1952 NOTE FOR MR. STOWE With reference to the attached letter from the Committee for the Nation's Health, you will note that the letter was sent December 11, 1951, approximately three weeks before the President established his Health # Commission. Frothingham's letter was no doubt promp- ted by the great amount of uncertainty then on the scene with respect to the establishment of the Com- mission. Moreover, he may have been anxious to see the President in order to get in some plugs for the Health Program in the annual messages. Now that we have the Health Commission, however, and the labor unions are actively cooperating in the effort, I agree with you that there appears to be no reason for grant- ing the requested interview. If you think it desir- able we might pass the word along by telephone to Fred Robbin, Executive Officer of the Committee for the Nation's Health, that we have assumed this request for an interview should be disregarded at this stage of the game. her M.
