Dear Mr. Dawson:
The Secretary of the Treasury received today
a letter from the Chairman of the Committee on

Un-American Activities requesting that the Committee
be furnished with copies of all documents in the
Department's files relating to the employment of
Harry Dexter White and Sonia Gold.
A copy of the Department's reply to the Com-
mittee's letter is attached for your information.
Photostatic copies of all unclassified papers
relating to the appointments, promotions, resigna-
tions, etc., of these two former employees and
the Department's letter were presented to the
Committee's representative in my office today.
