My dear Mr. Engelking:
E
The President asks me to thank you
and your family for the kind assurances of
approval of his action regarding the steel #
situation which your letter of April twelfth
conveys.
It was a pleasure to note the inci-
dent which you recall in 1948 when the Presi-
x 200-2-E
dent visited Spokane, and your expressions are
indeed appreciated. It was kind of you to write
the President at this time.
Very sincerely yours,
WILLIAM D. HASSETT
Secretary to the President
Mr. R. E. Engelking,
8814 N. E. Hancock,
Portland 20,
Oregon.
