Dear Mrs. Dunnigan:
I have your recent letter, addressed to
the President, and I am personally very sympathetic
with your situation.
I can only say that several of us have
been in touch with various Government departments
and that we are still attempting to work out some-
thing suitable. I can't hold out any promises.
As a Washington reporter, you know, I am sure, that
the Government agencies do their own appointing,
and that all we can do is to put up the names for
their consideration.
You may be sure we will keep on trying
and will see that your name is brought to the
attention of the right people from time to time.
Cordially,
DAVID K. NILES
Administrative Assistant
