G. R. SYKES 2011 Hines St. New Orleans, La. X Jan. 29, 1950. Dear Mr. President: 692-20 I am not just another member of a pressure group. Prg On the contrary, I think my opinions are identical with the great 'nart'culate mass of loyal Americans. Only one thing is wrong with me. (Pardon me for living.) I am one of that bigotted bunch of self righteous democrats (and ex-DEMOCRATS) who infest the South. Of course, that makes me an advocate of lynching and exploitation of the negro. If it was not for us Southerners it might not be necessary to send federal police down here to put us under control and protect the Negro. But, for your information, I am not a mal-adjusted race stirrer- upper like "Wrath" McGrath, Richard"Hate" Wright, and the rest of the civil "righters". They are the real problem children in this country for thinking they can force social intermingling where it does not occur naturally. It may be all right to protect the Negro from us, but who will protect us from the Negro. If a political party existed that was honest enough to denounce civil r'ghts, it would sweep the - country. But as a Southerner, I am naturally predjudiced and so not SERVICE GOVERNMENT entitled to an opinion. But allow me to ment'on the H-bomb. Don't wait for a favorable public react'on before going ahead with the H-Bomb. Organized sentiment in this country is largely controlled by pink front organizations. Normal Americans, on the other hand, do not join organizations which attempt to force their opinions onall other Americans through pressure groups. Make the H- Bomb PERST by making it now.
