April 11, 1947 82.7 My dear Mr. Flury: I have for acknowledgment your letter of April fifth and regret that I must send you a disappointing reply regarding your desire for the President's autograph. During these busy days when the pressure upon the President's time is so heavy, we have found it necessary to ask that he be excused from comply- ing with the many requests for his signature which are being received. I know that you will understand. The ten cent coin which accompanied your communication is returned to you herewith. Very sincerely yours, MATTHEW J. CONNELLY Secretary to the President Mr. Gerald Flury, 15618 Baylis Avenue, X Detroit 21, Michigan. Enclosure. 1 - 10¢ coin money vb
