My dear Mr. Fischer:
I am in receipt of your letter of
April twenty-eighth and sincerely regret that
it is not possible to meet your wishes for
the President's autograph. I feel sure you
will understand, however, when I explain that,
because of his urgent official duties, it has
become necessary for the President to suspend
the practice of autographing. I am, therefore,
returning to you herewith your copy of the song
