Dear Oovernor:
I an indeed grateful for your letter of
April twenty-seventh. In these grave days when I
am shouldering responsibilities thrust upon ne so
unexpectedly by the passing of ny lamented predecesser,
I appreciate more than 1 can say the pledge of assist-
ance which you give.
I shall be delighted to see you whenever
you are in Washington and sincerely hope that your
first visit will be at an early date. I need the
counsel which you can give and shall profit by it.
with every good wish.
