BATTERY "D"
129TH FIELD ARTILLERY
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI
FROM THE OFFICE OF
ERNEST L. SCHMIDT
October 25, 1945
933 MULBERRY STREET
Dear Friends:
On Saturday Night, November 10, 1945, at the President
Hotel (Aztec Room), 6:30 P. M., Battery "D" will get together for
their regular Armistice Reunion.
As far as we know now, "Captain Harry" will not be on
hand, but there will be some of our buddies present whom we have
not seen for years, and that in itself should be worth the price of
your dinner.
Please fill in the enclosed card and mail it at once.
Here it is at last! Your official Battery "D" Membership
Card. Prior to this date at least 50,000 (more or less) have claimed
the honor of belonging to Dizzy "D". This card will put us in the
Select Class, so guard it well. There is no charge for the enclosed
card, but if you lose it and want a duplicate, enclose a ten dollar
bill or your certified check for a like amount.
We would like to give everyone, who was ever in Battery
"D" officially, one of these cards. So if you know of any of the
boys who have not received a card, tell them to get in touch with me.
For your own protection, have your name typed in the
proper place and then sign the card in the space provided for member
signature.
Yours very truly,
Ernie Schmidt
