BATTERY
"D"
129TH FIELD ARTILLERY
KANSAS CITY, MISSOUR
FROM THE OFFICE OF
FRED J. SCHMIDT
President:
There will be a special ceremony in honor of The
President, Harry S. Truman, NOVEMBER 3rd, 1952, MONDAY NIGHT
BEFORE ELECTION.
Dinner 6:30 PM, Muehlebach Hotel
The President, Harry S. Truman, in person will
call the Battery to Attention.
Monsignor L. Curtis Tiernan will ask the good
Lord to give we Vieux Soldiers
strength enough to set up and
take nourishment.
Captain Harry having completed 80 Major and Minor
whistle stop speeches will be able to relax while the Jiggadair
fires his Soixante quinze Salvo.
Suggest you write a card, letter, or wire to Captain
John H. Thatcher, 262 San Jose Ave., Los Gatos, California, who
recently answered sick call, and was hospitalized. The rumors
are, delayed action of Corn Willy, or O.D. Pills. Jack Bullard
who recently visited Captain John says just plain "Gold Brick-
ing".
Please sign your name on the enclosed, and return
using the enclosed self addressed envelope. If you cannot
attend, enclose a buck or so, the Battery fund needs help.
There are a few who never fail to mail a check. We have 153
on our Battery "D" membership card list. Do you contribute?
Or will you? 2 dollar bills O.K. But please no Francs,
Marks or Rubles.
Don't forget to Register and Vote November 4, 1952.
Yours very truly,
Fred I Schmidt
