10/10 BATTERY "D" 129TH FIELD ARTILLERY KANSAS CITY, MISSOUR FROM THE OFFICE OF FRED J. SCHMIDT President: There will be a special ceremony in honor of The President, Harry S. Truman, NOVEMBER 3rd, 1952, MONDAY NIGHT BEFORE ELECTION. Dinner 6:30 PM, Muehlebach Hotel The President, Harry S. Truman, in person will call the Battery to Attention. Monsignor L. Curtis Tiernan will ask the good Lord to give we Vieux Soldiers strength enough to set up and take nourishment. Captain Harry having completed 80 Major and Minor whistle stop speeches will be able to relax while the Jiggadair fires his Soixante quinze Salvo. Suggest you write a card, letter, or wire to Captain John H. Thatcher, 262 San Jose Ave., Los Gatos, California, who recently answered sick call, and was hospitalized. The rumors are, delayed action of Corn Willy, or O.D. Pills. Jack Bullard who recently visited Captain John says just plain "Gold Brick- ing". Please sign your name on the enclosed, and return using the enclosed self addressed envelope. If you cannot attend, enclose a buck or so, the Battery fund needs help. There are a few who never fail to mail a check. We have 153 on our Battery "D" membership card list. Do you contribute? Or will you? 2 dollar bills O.K. But please no Francs, Marks or Rubles.
