My dear Mr. Williams:
Please accept the President's thanks
for your letter of July twentieth and for your
thoughtful words of commendation regarding his
radio address.
The President asks me to assure you
that he appreciates your interest in submit-
ting an expression of your views. As you know,
he stated in his address to the American people
that if prices should rise unduly because of ex-
cessive buying or speculation, he will not hesi-
tate to recommend rationing and price control.
Very sincerely yours,
WILLIAM D. HASSETT
Secretary to the President
Mr. Robert K. Williams, +
2509 South Fourth Street,
Leesville,
Louisiana.
