P.P.F. 1-H Cow Kansas City, Mo. January, 1951 Mr. Harry S. Truman, President of the United States. xyz file WDH 3-1-51 Dear Mr. President: We, the undersigned, were shocked and distressed to see your picture in the Kansas City Star recently taken in a restaurant drinking beer with a bowl of chili and to read that this beer was ordered by you and served to you in a place that has no license to serve beer. We want to look up to you and honor you but such actions make it expremely fifficult for us to do SO. They are not consistent with your pro- fessed faith in the Lord and interest in His church. We eanaestly call upon you to set a good example yourself and use your power and authority to remove beer from the camps where our boys are in training and in service. We believe that would be one of the best things that could be done to help in the present emergency. Signed: and others Mrs. Stella D. Plummer, 3017a montgall, Kausas City anna W.
