Our Dear President: I write to assure you of my support, confidence
and prayers.
Up until that time I had been a stanch Republican, but I have not lost
my vpte for the last three Presidential elections. May you yet be
the second President elected on the slogan, "He kept us out of war."
There are two requests that I want to ask of you:
1. That you refrain from using language of of the level of those
who criticise you or yours.
2. That you refrain entirely from the use of alcoholic beverages
and negative the rumors, true or false, that you do indulge. Most
of the World Powers of the past have fallen when their leaders have
been under that influence.
