Dear Webster:
I am informed regarding the Mãca situation about
which you wrote me, that the program has been
kicked around quite a bit. I am advised that it is a
very complicated matter and that the Mica Program
during World War II was badly bungled. Everyone
concerned is very anxious to avoid the mistakes of
the last war even if it means getting off to a slow
start.
I am also advised by the GSA a schedule has been
set up and they are to issue regulations next
Tuesday, September twenty-fifth, setting forth de-
tailed conditions under which Mica will be bought
and that from then on the Program will be started
and worked through to a finish.
Sincerely yours,
HARRY S. TRUMALY
