LIAISON OFFICE
Resolution No. 79 of the Chamber of Deputies and
Senate of Nicaragua adopted by the two houses on May 18
and 29, 8 1945, respectively, reads in translation as fol-
lows:
"Article 1. To direct requests to all the
legislative powers of the nations of the American
Continent in order that on July 4, next, the 11-
lustrious President Fronklin Delano Roosevelt be
declared Benemerito de las Americas'
"Article 2. To place in the session chamber
of the National Congress the portrait of Franklin
Delano Roosevelt in order that the present repre-
sentation and those which are to come , having his
face in view, may be inspired by the noble and high
principles which he susteined and fight with faith
and their whole being for the sacred rights of
Democracy and Liberty
"Article 3. To send a copy of the present
Resolution to the Executive and the Congress of
the United States of America.

"INATIONAL
"Article 4. This Resolution will enter into
ARCHIVES
RECORDS
effect from the date of its publication in Le
SERVICES
Gaceta."
This Embassy has been requested by the Nicaraguan
Senate to transmit a copy of the above Resolution to the
Executive Power of the United States. A suitable acknow
ledgment has been transmitted to the Senate pending any
additional expression of appreciation which it may be
desirable to make.
