las I have reported Bidault is far from happy
about the turn that French foreign rolations have taken
since his return from San Francisco and as one of
his friends put it he feels that "certain esgs which
were laid in his absence have hatched very badly
indeed". He is said to deplore particularly recent
French policy in Syria and in Italy and thore have
ovcn boch roports in pross that he might rosign be-
cause he does not wish to bear responsibility for
what has transpired in Syria thru what he considers
no fault of his own.
is friendly official who worked with Bidault
in resistance had a long conversation with him last
night. He gave general confirmation to forogoing
reports and said that Bidault was very unhappy when
he saw him last night. Bidault he said is faced
with two possibilities.
