by EDWARD F. NEILD TEXAS EASTERN BUILDING SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA December 1, 1949 Dear Mr. President: I have received from Mr. Winslow a set of the latest drawings of the White House Recon- struction, and it is my opinion that the arrange- ment is excellent. I am sure that you will be more comfortable without the temporary bracing and am confident that you will be well pleased with the final results. The drawings indicate thorough study and from information which I have received, there will be improvements in the interior design of the East Room and the State Dining Room. I hope you are enjoying your well-earned vacation at Key West and that the Christmas Season will be most happy for you. I am leaving in January for a six weeks' tour of the Mediterranean and would like very much to stop off for a few minutes visit with you for old times sake on my return. With very best wishes, I am Sincerely, TROMAN Ed family The Honorable Harry S. Truman President of the United States The White House Washington, D. C.
