RECEIVED
My dear Mr. President:
I am most grateful for your letter
of June sixteenth. I know of your deep
interest, which I share, in securing chande-
liers of the proper period and scale for the
East Room. I have been working on a plan
which, I think, will soon materialize to secure
such chandeliers. I will write you further
about it in a very short time.
I am sure there will be no difficulty
in securing chandeliers for the second floor
hallway and, I hope, for any other rooms that
need them.
It is a great pleasure to me to have
a part in this splendid work which you are
doing for the White House.
