a clause providing for acceptance of the treaty, but later modified this
position (in DEPTES, 2552 to London, June 13, 1947). It now agress
(1) that the treaty may be signed and ratified by a recognised German
government in the usual manner, (2) that the os will not insist on a
clause in the German constitution rolative to the treaty other than the
general requirement that treaties duly signed and ratified be a part of
the supreme law of the land, and (3) that consideration of a special
clause in the constitution relative to the treaty be deferred until
Allied action is taken on approval of a Gorman constitution.
