Dear Pete:
I certainly did appreciate your good letter of the first
and was more than happy to have the clipping from
The Sydney Morning Herald. Charlie Ross tells me
that is the London Times of Australia and an excellent
paper.
I also appreciate very much the report of the evening
with the Prime Minister. He impresses me as being a
real man. He and I got along famously when he was here.
I
am glad you had a good 4th of July party, and I am more
than happy that you and Mrs. Jarman like it in Australia.
I've always wanted to go there and someday I hope to be
able to make a visit to Australia and New Zealand. I don't
think I'll ever be able to do it while I am in the White House,
however,
