Dear Mr. Ambassador:
I appreciated most highly your comnnunication
of July twenty-first in regard to the situation
which has developed between Chile and the
International Bank.
You can rest assured that, as long as I am
President, the gentlemen in Wall Street are
not to control the operations of the International
Bank.
I am having a conversation with the Secretary
of the Treasury on this subject today.
Sincerely yours,
the
E. RECORDS SERVICE'
HARRY S. TRUMAN
and
Honorable Claude G Bowers
The American Ambassador
Santiago, Chile
By State Dept. pouch.
