Oct. 12:-- Departing from what he said he had intend- ed to be purely a disoussion of farm issues, Judge Harry S. Truman of Independence, Democratic candidate for United states Senator, tonight in a campaign talk here, launched a bitter 12 attack ag inst Republicam speakers who inveighed against the cost of the New Deal. The remarks were directed by inference against Senator Roscoe C. Patterson, his Republican opponent, who has mille the expense of the Roosevelt policies the theme of several of his speeches. One could write a homily on 'Man in Peace and War, , Rruman said. The rugged individualists among the Republican speakers so far this campaign have talked a great deal about the cost of the New Deal. I have ally never heard one of them ever speak derogatory of the cost of the world War.
