MEMORANDUM FOR MR. CONNELLY:
The American Ambassador at London has forwarded
the following message to the President from Princess
Elizabeth:
"My husband and I are extremely grateful
to you, Mr. President, and to Mrs. Truman, for
having rearranged your plans to receive us a
week later with so much courtesy. I need not
tell you how much we are looking forward to
our visit to Washington. (signed) Elizabeth. "
