TRUMAN
Your Majesty:
3. ARCHIVES NATIONAL AND
Some time ago, I spent a few most enjoyable
E
moments looking over a set of pictures taken
when your father, the late King, and your mother,
his gracious Queen, came to this country in 1939.
That was a memorable visit and did much to en-
hance the friendly relations between Great Britain
and the United States.
It occurred to me that you might like to have a
pictorial album of that visit. With this thought
in mind, I have had one prepared and it gives me
a great deal of pleasure to send it to you.
If Margaret were here, she would join Mrs. Truman
and me in conveying to Your Majesty and His Royal
Highness this assurance of our continued friendship
and esteem
Very sincerely yours,
HARRY S. TRUMAN
Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth II,
