MEMORANDUM FOR MISS CONWAY:
us After SERVICE" WATIONAL AND
Subject: General MacArthur's message to the President of
October 16, 1950.
The President approved the suggestion contained in the
Secretary of State's memorandum of October 18 for a reply to
General MacArthur's message of October 16.
I informed State of the President's approval, and the
Department of State is sending a telegram today. to General Mac-
Arthur over the President's signature.
