Government has learned with concern of the breach of peace
DCR
committed some days ago in attack on ROK by North Korean
troops. It welcomes speed shown by SC in dealing with
matter and notes with satisfaction SC resolutions of
June 25th and 27th. Government has decided to implement
resolution which SC has directed to UN inviting them to
furnish such assistance to ROK as may be necessary to
repel armed attack of North Korea forces and to contribute
to restoration of international peace and security in
area concerned.
In interest of furthering effective implementation of
SC recommendation, Government is considering relinquish-
ment of sea forces for participation in necessary mea-
sures to be taken in above-mentioned area.
Government is at present in close consultation with
Indonesian and BENELUX partners re situation and mea-
sures required on part of UN members.
