5279 August 8, 1947 Dear Dr. Grady: I certainly appreciated your good letter of July nineteenth in regard to the situation in India generally. I am glad you liked the picture. Your reference to the attitude of Asia toward the United States and Great Britain is one that is to be expected and all we can do is try to live it down. 1 do hope very much that India will come out of all the turmoil with a sound economic and stable democratic government. I'11 appreciate it if you will inform me on the situation when it is convenient. Sincerely yours, SENTION Ex HARRY S. TRUMAN Honorable Henry Grady American Embassy New Delhi, India (By State Dept. pouch)
