Stall DEPARTMENT OF STATE WASHINGTON April 21, 1945 MEMORANDUM FOR THE PRESIDENT Subject: Letter from Prime Minister Churchill to the President on Italy, Enclosed is a letter dated April 8, 1945 from Prime Minister Churchill which was for- warded to me by Lord Halifax for transmission to you. The letter is in reply to one on the subject of Italy written by President Roosevelt to the Prime Minister on February 11. If you wish the Department to draft a sug- gested reply for your signature, please return the Prime Minister's letter to me and I shall be glad to have something prepared very promptly.
