MEMORANDUM FOR: Secretary of State
FROM:
The President
I have your nemorandum with the attached
letter from Sheehy.
It had been suggested that Joe Casey, former
Congressman from Massachusetts, be sent over as a
special representative for this purpose, but you will
remember, the furor which was created when Myron Taylor
paid a second visit to the Vatican and the program which
you and I had decided to follow.
If you are interested I will be glad to dis-
cuss the suggestion with you, but it is loaded with
dynamite politically, I think.
