Memorandum for: Secretary of State
From:
The President
Mrs. Mesta has been invited to be one of the
principal speakers at the General Federation
of Women's Clubs which meets in Houston on
May 18th.
She has also been asked to speak to the San
Francisco League of Women Voters in San
Francisco in May, and the National Woman's
Party is anxious for her to be their principal
speaker at their convention at the Statler Hotel
here in Washington.
It seems to me that it would be a good plan to
direct Mrs. Mesta to come home on official
business so she could keep these engagements
as these organizations are not political.
