MEMORANDUM RE:
PALESTINE
At 4:50 P.M. today I delivered to Mr. Acheson a copy of the
message of Mr. Attlee to the President dated May *** 13. I
advised
Mr. Acheson that it was the President's desire that the May 20 date
be complied with but that it was also his wish that the entire mateer
be pushed forward with dispatch.
Mr. Acheson advised that he would
study the message and would confer with the President on Thursday,
May 16, regarding it.
