7739 September 12, 1952 Dear Mr. Ambassador: I certainly appreciate your good letter of September eighth. I had hoped that it would be possible for me to make the proposed trip to Panama after the Election but the way things are piling up and because of my Budget Message and Economic Message, both of which are required to be in the hands of the Congress before January fifteenth, it looks as if I am going to have to stay here and keep my nose to the grindstone. I regret it very much. I am hoping that after my tour of duty ceases on the twentieth of January I'll be able to take a few trips that I've always wanted to take and naturally Panama would be in that cate- gory. Sincerely yours, "NATIONAL ARCHIVES AND RECORDS SERVICE HARRY S. TRUMAN Honorable John C. Wiley American Ambassador American Embassy Panama, R. P.
