IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Mr. DINGELL introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Com-
mittee on Insular Affairs
A BILL
To postpone for twenty years the imposition of import duties
and other import restrictions on articles imported into the
United States from the Philippine Islands.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
3 That subsections (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), , and (f) of
4 section 6, as amended, of the Act of March 24, 1934, en-
5 titled "An Act to provide for the complete independence of
6 the Philippine Islands, to provide for the adoption of a con-
7
stitution and a form of government for the Philippine Islands,
8 and for other purposes" (U. S. C., 1940 edition, title 48,
9
sec. 1236 (a) to (f) ), , shall not be effective with respect
10 to any period after the date of the enactment of this Act.
