DEPARTMENT THE SECRETARY
THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR
WASHINGTON
March 9, 1950
MEMORANDUM for Matt Connelly:
This is apropos of Governor Munoz-Marin's
conversation with the President the other day.
The President seemed very much interested
and I judge that he approved the idea generally.
In view of his press conference this morning, I
am certain that some press people might ask him
questions about it, as the Governor has been talk-
ing with different groups around town about it.
This is just a suggestion as to how far the
President might wish to commit himself.
Secretary of the Interior.
