conditions as reported to the Vatican respecting the
Catholic Church in Hungary and Yugoslavia reciting the
persecution and death of priests nuns and others and the
suppression of religious institutions.
Six. I am to present Admiral Glassford USN and
other naval officers to His Holiness on Tuesday morning
next before which as is customary I will have a private
audience. If the President desires that might bE an
appropriate occasion to convey a message of greeting to
the Pope.
