The Second Polish Army took part in the closing operations\nof the war on the first Ukrainian front and in the general direction of Dresden.\nSoldiers of the Polish army showed in fierce battles against the enemy that they\nare true patriots of their country, and they fought without sparing their lives,\ntogether with troops of the Soviet Army, for the honor, freedom, and independence\nof their country. The fighting friendship between the Soviet and Polish troops\ngrew in strength in the fires of battle against the Hitlerite invaders.\nThe Soviet troops were imbued with love and profound respect for the troops\nof the Polish Army. In his Orders of the Day Generalissimo Stalin repeatedly\ngave thanks to the gallant Polish soldiers. The capital of the USSR, Moscow,\nrepeatedly saluted them. Thousands of Polish warriors have been awarded Soviet\norders for gallantry and heroism. The Soviet people and the troops of the Soviet\nArmy highly value the exploits of their comrades in arms, the gallant Polish\nsoldiers, who fought against the Hitlerite invaders. May the blood shed by Soviet\nand Polish soldiers in their joint struggle serve as a symbol of our eternal\nfriendship.\nYour army is an army of a new type, which reflects the popular democratic\nnature of your country's regime, and it serves the cause of defense of the\npeoples democratic order and the constructive toil of your nation. The armed\nforces of Poland are a trusty bulwark of your state, a safeguard of the freedom\nand independence of the country. Its soldiers must be reared in a spirit of\nboundless devotion to their country, to the cause of socialism and unbreakable\nfriendship with the Soviet Army.\nLinked by friendly ties with the mighty army of the USSR, basing itself\non its rich military experience and studying its own experience and everything\nwhich is of value in military history, the army of people's democratic Poland\nmust ceaselessly perfect its military skill.
