RESTRICTED LENIN ANNIVERSARY ADDRESS BY PAVEL POSPELOV DIRECTOR OF THE MARX-ENGELS-LENIN INSTITUTE INTRODUCTION: Pavel Pospelov, speaking on the 28th anniversary of the death of Lenin, this year directed his attention to Asia, where, he declared, the "colonial capitalist powers" who for centuries "have been sowing the discontent of the peoples of Asia by their rapacious, oppressive policy," are now "reaping storms and tempests." In his anniversary speech last year Pospelov, while attacking "American imperialism" as the leading force in the "camp of the instigators of war," and accusing the United States of "unleashing a bloody aggression against the peaceful Korean people," concentrated his main attention on what he called the role of the United States as the historical enemy of the Soviet Revolution. In this 1951 speech Pospelov quoted extensively from the fourth edition of Lenin's works, completed by the 27th anniversary of Lenin's death, which, he said, "extensively showed the role of American imperialism as active organizer and in- spirer of the military intervention against young Russia during the first years of her existence." Concurrently, the Satellite radios are echoing Pospelov's 1952 contention that it is impossible to suppress by force the "mighty national liberation move- ments of the peoples of Asia. If Speaking over the Albanian radio on 21 January 1952, Fikrete Shehu of the Workers' Party noted the fight against "imperialism" being waged by Vietnam, Germany, and Malaya. Hungarian Minister of Justice Erik Molnar, delivering the Lenin anniversary address in Budapest, said that Lenin had said: "Without the liberation of the peoples of the colonies and dependencies, imperialist capitalism cannot be defeated." Molnar stated that the liberation of the colonial peoples is an "historical necessity. Colonial peoples must solve this problem and they cannot solve it unless they are led by the proletariat. II He listed the progress of the "liberation struggle" in China, Burma, Indochina, Indonesia, Malaya, the Philippines, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco, adding that "during the past 12 months the Arab and Moslem world has also been set in motion." Following is the full text of Pospelov's address. RESTRICTED
