Andrei Gromyko, Deputy Soviet Foreign Minister, in a long statement broadcast by the Moscow radio, charged the United States Government with gradually pushing the United States into war through direct acts of aggression in Korea. In the statement, the U.S.S.R. reportedly called upon the United Nations to demand the recall of United States forces from Korea, but no indication of Soviet intervention in Korea appears to have been given. The full statement is not yet available. (Press) b. The carrier USS MIDWAY and four destroyers will leave Norfolk about 10 July to join the Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean.
