I
n. General withdrawal took place along entire front of South
Korean Army. Units are now in defensive positions as follows: 8th Div-
ision, vicinity Changnak; 6th Division, vicinity Miam; Capitol Division,
vicinity Sokhwa; 2d Division, vicinity Chongju. The 2d Division has been
ordered to fill the gap between the United States positions and Chongju.
South Korean Army Headquarters is now moving to Kumchon. (FECOM)

O. Task Group dissolved at Pearl. Units will go forward
to Japan individually as soon as possible. (CINCPACFLT, SECRET)
p. No unusual activity or movements observed by Navy patrol
planes west coast of Korea on night of 12-13 July. (COMNAVFE, SECRET)
q. Navy patrol plane radar contact of large number vessels at
40-40N, 129-25E on night of 11-12 July investigated by navy cruiser within
2 hours which reported 50 fishing vessels in that area. (COMNAVFE)

r. Navy Korean West Coast support group maintained patrol.
A shore battery of four 75-mm. guns in vicinity of Paengnyong engaged
one navy vessel on morning of 12 July. Naval vessel undamaged; three
guns silenced. (COMNAVFE) (SECRET)
U.S. AIR FORCE
S. Fighter aircraft continued interdiction and close support
missions. Light and medium bombers attacked enemy armor, communi-
cations, and troop concentrations. On 12 July, in the vicinity of Chonan,
FEAF aircraft destroyed 9 tanks, 59 trucks, 2 half-tracks, and 2 loco-
motives, while damaging 35 trucks. On 13 July, FEAF aircraft strafed a
mixed enemy column of undetermined strength in the vicinity of Hongsong,
18 miles north of Taechon on the west coast. (FEAF) (SECRET)
t. Fighter and bomber aircraft will provide close support and
interdiction. Far East Bomber Command B-29's will operate against
North Korean communications, industrial targets, POL storage, and enemy
