1. Weather:
Scattered clouds at 3,000 feet, visibility unrestricted Foreca:
West coast, scattered clouds at 3,000 feet, high overcast. East and SOUTH
coast, broken clouds at 2,500 feet becoming overcast at 1,000 feet in occasional
rain. Visibility unrestricted except in rain showers (FEAF) (SECRET)
A storm, now centered over Okinawa, is due to hit the southern coast
of Korea during the night of 19-20 July KT, bringing with it generally bad
flying weather which is expected to persist for at least two days. (D/Ig USAF-

2. Soviet Participation:
The unidentified jet aircraft, previously reported as having been
observed on 16 July, are now reported to have been sighted on 11 July in the
Chungju area. A KMAG officer with the South Korean forces observed two
jets, fitting the description of the Soviet MIG-15, at 1400 (KT) at a high altitude
and again at 1600 (KT) at about 4,500 feet The officer=in-charge of a Tactical
Control Party observed two jet aircraft of a similar description at 1400 (KT)
at about 10,000 feet. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. Operations:
ENEMY SITUATION
a. During the period enemy pressure in the Kingju-Taejon-Nonsan
triangle against the 24th U.S. Division relaxed. Enemy elements in immediate
contact are from the 4th North Korean Division There has been no recent
contact with the 1st North Korean Division and its present location is unknown
