Weather: Broken to overcast at 10,000 feet over all Korea. Broken low clouds at 2,000 feet, visibility 10 miles in the west and southwest. Overcast at 1,000 feet in the southeast with visibility 3 miles in rain. Forecast: Generally unchanged. 2. Soviet Participation: Negative. Operations: ENEMY SITUATION a. Enemy points of contact are in an irregular arc extending generally as follows: Yosu - seven miles southwest of Chinju - Anui Sanwon - four miles southwest of Hwanggan - nine miles west of Sangju $ four miles southwest of Hamachang - seven miles north of Hamchang - four miles north of Yechon as four miles northwest of Ongchon - one mile south of Yongdok. In the west and south coast areas an unidentified North Korean regiment occupies Kwangyang, an enemy regiment is reportedly in iladong, and a third enemy regiment is reported moving east from Naju. An unidentified enemy unit of unreported strength is crossing the Somjin river northwest of Hadong and an estimated 400 enemy troops are reported five miles southwest of Chinju. An enemy column of undetermined strength is reported at Anui moving towards Kochang. A North Korean infantry company, supported by an un- determined number of tanks, is reported moving south from Anui. There is a heavy enemy road block reported seven miles south of Anui. (FECOM) (SECRET) C. The 2d and 3d N. K. Divisions are continuing their build-up opposite the positions of the 1st Cavalry Division. An undetermined number of enemy troops, supported by tanks, was observed moving east in the vicinity of Sangnyong. An estimated enemy division has reportedly left Yongdong moving south towards Muju. Enemy pressure continues in the vicinity of Sinchon. North Korean infiltrations have, reportedly, been successfully made in the rear area of the 24th RCT about five miles west of Sangju.
