CO SUMMARY Washington, D. C. June 18, 1945 9:12am CORCORAN to MR. CROWLEY'S office. CROWLEY'S line was busy. 9:15am MR. CROWLEY to CORCORAN at home. CORCORAN-- you have soundings on JIMMY's CROWLEY--AS far as I know, yes, although I don't think there is anything sure about it at all. What do you think? CORCORAN--I think it's sure. CROWLEY--I hope so. CORCORAN--I think you ought to plan accordingly. CROWLEY--I will. I'll kind of hold everything up a little bit. How are you? CORCORAN--I'm all right. I'd love to see you when you get time. I don't want to press myself on you. CROWLEY--If I get time this afternoon I'll give you a buzz. CORCORAN--O.K I've got lots of things to tell you I think. CROWLEY-- O.K. 9:26am CORCORAN to Senator HILL's office. Senator not back from Alabama yet. CORCORAN will call again. 9:27am CORCORAN to War Department, Extension 3524, General PERSONS (Phon.) office. The General is not in, he's up front. CORCORAN asked to have him call him at his office in half an hour. 9:31am BEN COHEN to TOM CORCORAN. TC--CHARLEY is no boy to go to Germany. SAM's coming in to see me about CHUCK and his judgeship and going to Germany. CHARLEY hasn't got the "wham" to go to Germany. BC--It's a tough physical job. TC--It's also a tough administrative job. There's something going on. BC--IS it under CLAY or is it under BOB JACKSON? TC--I don't think it's under BOB JACKSON. This is something else. BC--Did CHUCK know anything about it? TC--I don't know. I was just interested. A new group is going over. BC--I hadn't heard. TC--YOU State Department guys ought to watch all of that. BC--What have I got to do with the State Department, and what has the State Department got to do with me? TC--Well, you ain't kiddin' me. you may be kiddin' the rest of the world. You ain't never kidded me.
