MR. SELIGMAN (Phon.) to MAC WRIGHT, wanted to see him and sug-
gesting that they would then go to see IRWIN. SELIGMAN wants
to leave town on the 4 P.M. train today but he'll be here all
day working on another matter in connection with STONER'S section
of R.F.C. (Phon.) on a freight adjustment "we" come under. He
may not see STONER but will see his assistant. SELIGMAN mentioned
a $11,000 item on that invoice and a new letter he received from
the United Engineers, and salary schedules-- on all of these he
must see IRWIN. WRIGHT is very busy so SELIGMAN will make the
appointment and then advise WRIGHT. O.K.
9:15am
SELIGMAN to WRIGHT saying that IRWIN, who is in the R.F.C. annex,
will meet them today at 2:30 P.M. O.K. WRIGHT will be there.
9:30am
CLARK to MISS KIRKPATRICK at his office. She said that MR.
YERKA, of I.C.C., Ext. 341, called and wanted to talk to CLARK
about the STEVENS Brothers case in Atlantic, Ia. She said YERKA
told her he had just received correspondence from ROSCOE JONES
Company and that there was a misunderstanding on some information.
YERKA suggested that CLARK come over and look at the public docket.
10:20am
CORCORAN to MR. PURCELL (Phon.), the Chairman (?) of the Security
Exchange Commission. Latter not in. He's in Philadelphia and
will return tonight. PIKE will be in today.
10.22am
KINSEY ROBINSON to WORTH CLARK. Latter said he had just learned
from CORCORAN that PURCELL will not be in until tomorrow but that
PIKE will be in today. ROBINSON is going to New York where he
has a meeting with some people tomorrow but he will return Monday
of next week. They discuss taxable assets of Washington Power,
the S.E.C., and the Treasury attitude. ROBINSON explains the
background.
10:30am CORCORAN to MR. MacCONAHEY (Phon.) of S.E.C. Latter is in the
Philadelphia office. CORCORAN will reach him there.
11:35am FOWLER HARPER, Solicitor's office, Interior Department, Ext. 600,
to CORCORAN as follows:
C--I had a conversation which you don't know I had and which he
doesn't know I had, as far as that's concerned, with PAUL
FREUND (Phon.) this morning, the real fellow on this bus-
iness, and I said, "PAUL, I know what's going on about this
thing--I've talked to the Secretary on it. Now let's look
at this thing right straight in the eye. The Department
