Logical to consider this case on the merits. 4:05pm Mrs. BEHAN to RE 7500 to Extension 72318 asking for Mr. WALKER (ARNOLD B. WALKER, Assistant to Chairman, WPB ?) whom she reached on Extension 5828 for Mr. WILLIAM YOUNGMAN. The latter said that Dr. S. C. WONG, who was out of town until this morning, and who is with one of the officials of the Chinese Supply Commission and the representative of the National Resources Commission which Dr. WONG WIN HOW (Phon.) who is now head of the Chinese War Pro- duction Board and also Vice-Premier of China, was in and they drafted a telegram to WALKER setting forth the fact that the Chin- ese understand that WALKER is contemplating a trip to the Far East and hoping that he will come to confer with the Chinese War Production Board and include CHINA in his trip. YOUNGMAN said he will get in touch with T. V. SOONG, who is now in Moscow, and have the latter get in touch with WALKER and extend an invitation to him also as well as this telegram which should be forthcoming to WALKER from Chungking at an early date. 4:10pm YOUNGMAN to TAUBE of National Resources asking if they are start- ing some of the things incorporated in the March 20 memorandum. Ans: No but he will do so. They agree to contact the Union Carbide man in NYC. 4:15pm EMIL SCHRAM in NYC to YEAGER or CORCORAN, both of whom are out. The instructions were left for them to contact SCHRAM today. O.K. 4:51pm CORCORAN to Senator LISTER HILL. H--Hello, Tommy? C--Hello. Which means to me, my Reverend mentor H--All right, my boy. that all these Is he still with you? (GENERAL PERSONS) H--No, he's gone now. C--Well, all Now, honest to Christ, you got further on that just talking it over this afternoon than he'd gotten in six months.
