CO SUMMARY Washington, D. C. July 5, 1945 9:10 AM MAURY MAVERICK (Chairman of Smaller War Plants Corporation) asked for CORCORAN and YOUNGMAN, neither of which were in. MAVERICK said he would call back as he just got in on a plane and is going to bed. 9:30 AM CORCORAN to his office. He was told that a Mr. JOHN SONNET (Special Assistant to the Secretary of Navy) was waiting to see him. CORCORAN asked BILL YOUNGMAN to have WADE, the chauffeur, go out to CORCORAN's house and get DAVE (CORCORAN?) about 10:30 A.M. YOUNGMAN said it was too late to tell WADE as he had already let WADE go. 9:45 AM CORCORAN unable to reach Senator BENNETT CLARK at Mayflower Hotel, Room 649. 9:50 AM CORCORAN advised Miss CONNELLY, in Secretary ICKES' office, that he would be over as soon as possible. 9:52 AM JIM to NASON. NASON said he had found what he wanted. JIM said the income tax data for DAVE (CORCORAN?) is in the safe. NASON said that DAVE is coming down later. 10:00 AM Girl in Secretary ICKES' office asked if BEN COHEN was in CORCORAN's office. No. 10:05 AM CORCORAN to TIM MOONEY's (Attorney, Washington, D. c.) office at DI 1555. CORCORAN said that MOONEY had asked CORCORAN to bring his brother out to see him and he wanted to call MOONEY at home. MOONEY's phone number at home was given as Woodley 6615. 10:07 AM CORCORAN to TIM MOONEY's residence. He was advised that MOONEY is in New York and that DAVE could see him there or here tomorrow. TOM said that he is sending WADE out to get DAVE and bring him down to go over the income tax reports. 10:12 AM Girl in Mr. SONNET's office asked if SONNET was still at CORCORAN's office. He left about ten minutes ago. 10:20 AM ARNOLD KIEHN (Repatriate from China) to CORCORAN. CORCORAN asked if KIEHN got his money. No. CORCORAN said he would find out how things are. KIEHN asked if he could come over and see about "getting started on the rest of this." CORCORAN said to come over at 10:00 A.M. tomorrow he had a big day at the War Food Administration. 10:22 AM CORCORAN's secretary to Mr. GEIST's (phonetic) office, State Department, saying that Mr. CORCORAN would like to change luncheon engagement from 1:00 P.M. to 12:45 P.M. Secretary will try to change it when GEIST comes in. 10:25 AM Mrs. BEHAN to Statler Hotel Dining Room reserving table for 3 at 12:45 P.M.
