will be glad to introduce him to HUGH. CORCORAN SAID HE doesn't know the
name of the man who is handling the investigation for CLARK but HUGH
will. CORCORAN said that HUGH is a rational guy and he could ask HUGH
to do that. They agree that MATT (CORREA, Secretary of Navy's office?)
won't be back until Wednesday.
11;40 am TOM CORCORAN to BARNEY FLYNN (See Conversation at 3 P. M. --
HUGH COX to CORCORAN).
--C--I've just heard from GEORGE, and, as I understand it, what
you' like to do is to talk with HUGH (cox), right?
F--Yes.
C--He told me of three guys you have. I understand perfectly about
Number one. I understand perfectly about the guy with S(SHAPIRO?). The
second guy used to be a pretty good friend of mine. I always thought that
he was a pretty decent guy. Has he got himself mixed up in this?
F--Tom, maybe he's within his rights. This fellow S worked for T and
he bought T in connection with C, you see. T is accepting a retainer
from C.
C To do what? He's crazy. He's crazy if he goes to work with C. He
is a very decent guy.
F--He's Jewish.
C-- I know that.
F-- And I heard him spoken of as a man of great ability and occupied with
G. M., the top position in the U. K. (United Kingdom), and when that
was told to me I couldn't believe it. And they said, "these are the
Facts". And it was the British that gave it to me.
C--Well, I'm amazed. But that's all right. Let these things fall where
they will fall.
F--Let 'em fall where they fall. This fellow S who was up at JESSE JAMES'
place is carrying on a phony feud with this fellow. You see, you know where
the sister sat down there, don't you? You remember her?
C--Who?
F--The sister of this fellow S.
C-- No.
F- She's with C. Remember her?
C Yeah.
