August 22, 1945 Dear J.C.: I had a visit today from YRUMAH AND DEPARTMENT Lieutenant Goans. He handed me your letter and we had a very pleasant talk. He seems to be a nice young man. I hope everything is going all right with you and that as soon as the surrender is completed you will have an opportunity to wind up your present assignment, but I hope you can be present when the surrender takes place.
