C 0 P September 7, 1951 Y Mr. Chafkin Elting Arnold This is to remind you of the two tasks which you have agreed to undertake for the next meeting of the "China Lobby" Committee on September 14. One is to prepare such statement as is appropriate with re- gard to the following: "We are advised that General Wedemeyer, in connec- tion with his early reports, submitted annexes to those reports listing the holdings of wealthy Chinese in this country. We are advised that the Treasury and the Fed- eral Reserve Board compiled such data during the war and must have it available in their files". Respecting the second sentence you can state in essence that lists embpdying the pertinent information along lines agreed on with the Committee have already been submitted to the Committee. Secondly, you agreed to prepare a summary of such of your ex- periences in Formosa and elsewhere in the Fast as would be perti- nent to the Committee. (Initialed) E.A. SARITY as.
