COPY Washington, D. c. March 14, 1938 Mr. Paul Dillon 907 Bank of Commerce Building St. Louis, Missouri Dear Poul: Replying to your letter of the Eleventh, Mrs. Backy should execute affidavits as to her responsibility for her nephew's financial independ- ence if he io admitted to this country. She should also get affidavits from her benk as to the amount to her credit there, and her financial resources, such as property, business assets, etc. These papers should then be sent to the Americen Consul General at Prague, whose name is Raymond E. Cox. Mrs. Backy should also get in touch with Mr. Sladek and tell him to go to the Consulate and make application for a visa. They will tell him at that office what will be necessary in addition to the papers I have mentioned. The Depertment of State advises ne that the Czechoslovakien quote is not filled at this time, but that there are heavy demands against it. I hope that this information will be of some help to you. Sincerely yours, TRUMAN V. R. Messall, Secretary Harry S. Truman, U. S. S. of ADMIN VRM/cb 11.5. GOV
