Graham, M.C. 10 September 1950 AMBULATORY EXAMINATION REQUESTED AGE SEX Barium enema SUMMARY OF PERTINENT CLINICAL HISTORY. PHYSICAL FINDINGS. AND PROVISIONAL DIAGNOSIS ABUNAND NARA RADIOGRAPHIC REPORT (Use reverse side for additional space) Barium enema reveals no evidence of an organic lesion of the rectum, colon or terminal ileum. During fluoroscopy there was no evidence of obstruction to the retrograde flow of barium fluid and all portions of the colon and terminal ileum were found to be freely movable. No areas of tenderness were located. There were prominent haustral markings noted in the ascending portion of the colon and during the latter part of the examination much of the meal was forced into the ileum from the cocum and ascending portions of the colon due to contraction of the latter struct- ures. The films show rather persistent contraction of the cecum and ascending colon which is suggestive of spasticity of them proximal aspect of the colon. The appendix was partially filled with barium. On several films an ovoid radiolucent area is noted in the lumen of the (DATE OF REPORT) large bowel at the junction of the sigmoid and descending portions.
